M.A installation "Transparent Landscapes"
Transparent Landscapes.....
“Glass by it’s self is an interesting substance and when mixed with controlled or natural light and ice seems to produce a vision which inspires and excites the imagination”.
The way in which the material shatters means that every particle reflects and traps light in it’s own way; no two segments would produce the same outcome and in principle a one of a kind natural design. To appreciate the beauty of this simple concept I used different lighting effects and close up photography in the hope of capturing it’s natural beauty.
I began my M.A work by studying the size, shape, lines and refractions.

Concept ideas for Uni and Curzon show...
Above is a copy of the CAD drawing. The original drawing was produced on a 1:1 scale to better understand dimensions and sizes of projected images. The current screen sizes are 50"x67"..
I've come up with two different ideas for presenting my work. The room will be pitch black with just a beam of light been projected vertically from the ceiling onto a plinth. The plinth will display my book with the walls will be used to project photographs in slow fades to abstract and diverse musical sounds......

collage of intangible/tangible cultral heritage
current work on intangible/tangible cultral heritage....http://www.bcu.ac.uk/news/releases07/4411.html
Two MA Visual Communication students from The University of Central England in Birmingham have been selected to represent Britain at a programme centred on Promotion of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, at Joshibi University of Art and Design, Kanagawa, Japan.
The Convention, together with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) aims to educate people as to what intangible cultural heritage is and why it should be protected. Although there is a good understanding of cultural and natural heritage, with tourists visiting well known sites throughout the world, intangible cultural heritage is difficult to express and understand.

Handmaking my book....
Early stages of my book,...... I plan to produce a book using photographs and works, the images above are from a collection of current work “echo’s of space in glass”.The fabrics and papers I've chosen to use are all hand made and imported from Japan. The paper is a handmade light brown ceder bark washi with a smooth surface which contains many fine fibers with a sence of delicate luster. The outer skin of the book is made from a very thin and old leather which i plan to distress and sand down to give the book a very vintage feel. I want the book to feel and smell like it's been around for years, hopefully it will have a nice handmade and rustic delicate feel.
